Project Management Mode And Risk Characteristics Of EPC Projects For Chemical Industry In Central Asia

This article describes the common used in international engineering project management modes, by comparing and analyzing the specific execution environment of EPC turnkey projects for chemical industry in Central Asia, reveals their characteristics of the management mode. Using Experts grading method, risk identification checklists and practical experience, the author of article summarized contractor's risks on such aspects, as the external environment, internal project management and owner's influence, established contractor's risk system, including three areas,15 categories, a total of 36 risk factors, on the basis of risk system and through analysis and expert scoring of these risk factors had qualitative and quantitative risk analysis. Based on risk probability and risk impact matrix an analysis of the results of expert scoring the author identified the most important facilities from the owners insufficient funds, lack of project management experience, laws and technical specifications and other risk factors, secondly political factors and duration of project, in addition, according to the results of quantitative analysis of the importance of other risk factors were divided. The author of article recommended risk response measures and risk management system. This article will make a reference for general contractor of EPC turnkey projects for chemical industry in Central Asia.
