Research On Relationship Between Degree Of Internationalization And Enterprise Performance In China From A Resource Perspective

This paper aims to figure out the relationship between degree of internationalization and enterprise performance in China from a resource perspective. Based on 2007 manufacturing industry listed companies in China, this paper takes an empirical research on above question, including the impact of enterprise resource on degree of internationalization and regulative effect on the relation between degree of internationalization and enterprise performance. The result shows the relationship is a U-curve which means in countries like China which is a typical developing country, internationalization has scale effect, so it will enhance performance on condition that firms have achieved certain degree of internationalization. On the other hand, it will be good for performance promotion when both knowledge resource and property resource have comparative advantage. It implies when enterprises are in the process of international expansion, they need to balance the consideration of the synergy of resource advantages.The Innovations of this paper are mainly reflected in following aspects. First, new situation. The paper takes Chinese enterprises as object for research, since China has its own special environment which may generate new conclusions. Second, new perspective. Resource perspective is a new perspective for the research on the relationship between degree of internationalization and enterprise performance. Third, new idea. Single resource advantage is the bottleneck for many firms to implement developing strategy. Internationalization won't be successful without different resource collaboration. So it provides a new idea to test the effect of resource group on internationalization performance for enterprise internationalization development.
