A Study On Integration Operation Of China's Commercial Banks

Since the United States issued a "financial modernization" bill in 1999, the global financial industries are back on the road to integration operation. China concluded its accession to the WTO's five-year transition period in 2006 and our financial industries fully open to foreign financial institutions. China's commercial banks will face more intense competition from foreign banks with comprehensive business advantage. In response to the integrated management trends of international financial industry and the challenge of foreign banks, China's commercial banks have to realize the need of following the development trend of the international financial industry closely and seeking new development path, and promote the integration operation has become a realistic choice for China's commercial banks. In recent years, commercial banks have been carrying out integration operation within the framework of separate management and have accumulated some experience. In order to promote the healthy development of commercial banks' integration operation, we should conduct a comprehensive and in-depth study.The article first introduces the theory on integration operation of commercial banks, and then gives a comparative analysis of the history change and the mature integration operation mode in developed countries, making the conclusion that developed countries' selection of bank operation model are based on its economic characteristics. The internal law of integrated business model in developed countries and sub-prime mortgage crisis provides a useful inspire to China's commercial banks. Then the article analyses the current situation, problems and constraints of integration operation of China's commercial banks. At last, the article proposes specific strategies about the development of integration operation of commercial banks; it should be based on market needs and employs a variety of models.
