With the aging population and the "sub-healthy" becoming more and more popular, and the revolutionary impact of the global overall health concept, people's need for health has become another trend and highlight following food and clothing. Integrating health resources and tourism activities, wellness tourism, a new form of tourism, just meets people's physical and mental health needs, and, therefore, becomes the first choice for health tourism. However, current concerns and theories on wellness tourism in and outside the country are still at an early stage, and development patterns of wellness tourism are also obscure. Therefore, the development of wellness tourism needs theoretical guidance and continuous innovation.Industry convergence is the essential attribute of wellness tourism. The convergence of wellness and tourism, promoted by various factors such as changes in market demand, science and technology innovation, competition and cooperation pressure and relaxation of economic regulations, is realized by provision of resources through the wellness industry and innovative implementation of tourism services through tourism industry. At the same time, the convergence of these two industries has also provided the soil for the prosperity of wellness tourism's clustering development, which is the result of a wide range convergence of tourism and wellness industry. Wellness tourism clusters, extending the travel services industry of tourism enterprises and related organizations, are a new development model to meet the growing tourist demand for wellness, relying on wellness and cultural resources through the interaction of competing. From the theoretical perspective of industry convergence, this paper systematically analyzes wellness tourism, exploring the clustering development pattern, to give professional practicers an in-depth understanding of wellness tourism, to expand the ideas in development, to overcome current problems and to bring wellness tourism industry in our country a better future. The thesis is divided into six parts. The first part is an introduction, including background, significance, research content and methods of this thesis. The second part is a based theoretical research, which summarizes the related research results and status of industry convergence theory, tourism industry cluster theory and wellness tourism. The third part is a study on industry convergence of wellness tourism, which mainly analyses the motivations, types and effects of industry convergence, then builds a mechanism for the convergence of wellness tourism. The fourth part is the wellness tourism's clustering development research based on industry convergence, which points out the need and feasibility for wellness tourism clustering development and the idea of building a wellness tourism clustering development model through the analysis of the current situation and existing problems of wellness tourism development. The fifth part is an empirical analysis, that is, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) tourism clustering development in Hangzhou.
