Traditional Chinese furniture is not only an important treasure in Chinese culture relics, but also takes a vital role in the history of world's furniture for its distinctive features. It is an exquisite flower in the field of art collection.The modern furniture collection has developed industrialization in overseas and has a mature collection system, such as museum collection, enterprise collection, expo collection and personal collection etc. Compared to the modem furniture collection in foreign countries, our current furniture collection is only at the initial stage and on its way of development. How to make the modern furniture collection glittering like traditional furniture collection.This thesis researches the models and features of foreign modern furniture collection. Including introduce specialized modern furniture museum and modern art museum and states that enterprises, institutions and personal collection models are more and more mature, meanwhile this thesis talks about the traditional Chinese furniture trading and collection mechanism, price evaluation system as well as the innate characteristics of collection groups. Through collecting, classifying, analyzing and summarizing some related papers, this thesis tries to find out the theoretic basis that is fit for modem Chinese furniture collection's development. That is, to establish collection major, perfect regulations and laws, educate general people, strengthen the building of furniture design course and cultivate furniture designers. etc. In this thesis, the author defines the model of Chinese modem furniture collection:for one thing is to establish modern furniture museum; for other thing is to adjust intermediary organ orientation and encourage social collection. This thesis also specifies the cultivation and development of elementary idea of China's modern furniture collection market, which is significant to the rationalization and standardization of modern furniture collection.Therefore, the author believes that this research can better guide the development and establishment of the market of modern Chinese furniture and has certain research value.
