Lean production is an advanced manufacturing mode and management thinking, which effectively guide the ongoing transformation of modern manufacturing enterprises, by reducing manufacturing costs and maximizing profits, enabling the organization full of competitiveness. In particular, lean production advocates continuous elimination of waste, maximizing the pursuit of perfection, never letting up and sustaining changes, which has become a magic weapon for manufacturing management and investors home and abroad. This thesis starts with the quick review to the historical background and the development process of the lean production. The definition and connotation of the lean production system and its main contents are discussed. Lean production is not only a manufacturing mode which aims atminimizing resource consumption and lowering production costs but also a philosophy and culture. It can be very flexible to adapt to a variety of industry products in different categories of high-quality production technology and management techniques. Its basic principles and management methods have positive significance for the management of mass production industry. The detailed steps in applying lean production are also been introduced here briefly. The analysis of H company's business environment and its adaptability of implementing lean production are followed.. Firstly, Through the brief introduction to H company's general situation and manufacturing process, readers can get some preliminary understanding of H company. Then the analysis of its internal and external environment demonstrates the demands for lean production Through analyzing, we find out that H company's market potential is very large, but it is not competitive in the market.. A new management mode has to be introduced to change its current difficult and passive situation.Based on the previous analysis, this thesis begins case study in the implementation of lean production in H company. The first case which focuses on improving equipment utilization and productivity, we use Pareto Chart analysis theoryto analyze and prioritize the factors effecting equipment utilization and find out three main reasons, namely, equipment failures, moulding failure and Quality anomalies. A second round of sequencing analysis is applied to find out the internal factors affacting each main cause. By piping through the layers,we eventually find out the roots which affect equipment utilization and bring up the constructive improvement plan The second case focusing on quality improvement, we use fish bones diagram analysis to anlalyze quality defeat and track down 15 main causes affecting product quality, putting forward 15 specific improvements. The third case is the balanced line case, an example of products to the glove box. Because the injection molding production line's beat is faster than the welding assembly's beat, it leads welding assembly processes into production bottlenecks. H company tries a variety of ways to improve the site, eliminating the welding assembly of production bottlenecks, so that the entire production process maintains a basic balance and largely improves production efficiency and productivity. Finally the thesis presents to the readers a brief summary of H company's implementation of lean manufacturing results, in the hope of providing some reference to those who may interested.
