Research On The Establishment Of Qingdao Tourism Satellite Account

As a pillar industry of Qingdao city, in 2007, the total income of tourism industry accounted 10.57% of gross domestic product for Qingdao. But how to measure the complexity of tourism industry activities scientifically, reflecting the exact benefits which the tourism industry brings, providing the statistical data of the industry with domestic and international comparability, credibility and consistency, not only is an important topic of the tourism industry in Qingdao currently, but also is a very important basic work about how to constitute and carry out the strategy and policy of the tourism industry in Qingdao. The Tourism Satellite Account as an important tool for national accounts, not only can provide accurate information about the tourists consumption, the total supply of tourism industry, but also can give deep analysis of structural condition of tourist consumption and the supply of tourism industry, to understand the overall tourism demand and industry market equilibrium condition, and calculate the scale of the tourism industry such as tourism industrial added value, employment in the tourism industry and so on, fully reflects the status of tourism industry in Qingdao's economic and social development system.In view of these, based on the review of Tourism Satellite Account theory and the practical experiences, through the systems analysis of tourism economic development, tourism market structure, level of tourism industry, this thesis reveals the necessity and urgency of the construction of Qingdao Tourism Satellite Account, and from the existing theoretical and practical basis, government departments'many years of experience in statistical work, the attitude of city government, this thesis analyzes the feasibility of building tourism satellite account,and refers to "Tourism Satellite Account:Recommended Methodological Framework" and the domestic and foreign research results, connects with the status and features of the tourism industry in Qingdao, this thesis defines the key concepts of Qingdao Tourism Satellite Account, builds up six basic forms for Qingdao Tourism Satellite Account, then uses the statistical data of tourism industry of Qingdao in 2000 and input-output tables in 2000, sets up the input-output tables of Qingdao in 2000 which includes the tourism characteristic industry, gains the consumption, the investment (consumption) flow, the increased value, the total investment, the end-use, the total output, the total output proportion of GDP, the influence coefficients and sensitivity coefficients of tourism industry of Qingdao in 2000, and makes a correlation analysis about the Qingdao Tourism characteristic industry internal development, inter-industry association and its direct contribution to the national economy, finally, gives the corresponding recommendations about the possible confronting problems of building the Qingdao Tourism Satellite Account.In the empirical study, the main conclusions are as follows:in 2000, the added value of tourism industry of Qingdao was 6,167,550,800yuan, the total output was 11,772,836,800 yuan,, accounting for 10.24% GDP, was truly a pillar industry of Qingdao city, its influence coefficients and sensitivity coefficients are 0.72 and 1.39 respectively, indicating that other industries in Qingdao has a municipal association with tourism industry, especially the food and tobacco processing industry, petroleum processing and coking industry, business, cargo transport and warehousing industry, agriculture, finance and insurance industry, transportation equipment manufacturing industry, paper printing and stationery manufacturing industry played a prominent role in driving the development of tourism industry, largely promoted the adjustment of industrial structure of national economy of Qingdao, promoting the sustainable and healthy economic and social development.
