China occupies an important position in the footwear industry of the world because of its cheap labor, but the outbreak of the financial crisis this time causes the footwear industry in China some impacts, makes the export of footwear affected, SMEs face difficulties. Coupled with rising raw material, reducing labor advantages and the pressure of foreign trade protectionism, China's footwear industry is facing many challenges. How to maintain and continuously improve the export competitiveness of the footwear industry in the context of financial crisis, there is a major significance for the entire industry's sustained and stable development.In this paper, on the based of the current situation analysis of China's footwear industry, using the international competitive power index system, factor analysis and diamond model to analyze various factors which reflect the international competitive power of China's footwear industry with quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis method. Quantitative analysis firstly uses the international competitive power index system to analyze and compare the various indicators of China's footwear industry and other representative countries and regions, secondly uses SPSS statistical analysis software to measure these countries' footwear industry international competitive power by Factor score, and makes the direct evaluation of advantage and disadvantage to China's footwear industry in the context of the financial crisis by the horizontal comparison of composite index before and after the financial crisis. Qualitative analysis is on the basis of Diamond Model Theory, from the factors of productions, demand conditions, related and supporting industries, business strategies and competition, opportunities and government, evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of the international competitive power of China's footwear industry through objective analysis.Quantitative model results show that China's footwear exports competitive power is stronger than other countries and regions, competitive ranking has always been the first, but before and after the financial crisis, China's footwear industry competitive power index has changed significantly, the Composite Index has been down, in the context of Italy's competitive power rising, our export competitive power advantage reduces. Qualitative model results show that the competitive advantages of China's footwear industry mainly are the excellent location, low labor costs, rich market demand, perfect industry chains, as well as the good domestic economic environment and strong government policy support. Competitive disadvantages mainly are rising raw material prices, difficulties in financing of SMEs, lack of infrastructure in the western region, the scarcity of professionals, as well as corporations'business model and lack of self-sufficient brands.Through the analysis of advantages and disadvantages of China's footwear industry, this paper presents the strategic proposals to China's footwear industry to improve the international competitiveness:developing self-sufficient brands, focusing domestic market, accelerating the transfer of industry and enhancing regional cooperation, giving full play to the associations'organizing efforts to avoid cut-throat competition, developing the human resources strategy, implementing favorable policies of government. The industry-enterprise-products aspects closely linked, in pursuit of the greatest room in the developing of export competitive power of China's footwear industry.
