Study On Sustainable Development Of Eco-tourism In West Dongting Lake Wetland

Wetlands are important natural resources and an important part of the natural environment. Called "the kidney of earth", wetlands play an important role of keeping ecological equilibrium of earth surface. With the peculiar natural and cultural landscapes, wetlands provide many advantages on Wetland Tourism (WT). This paper takes the wetland eco-tourism as the research object, combines reality of wetland eco-tourism development of the West Dongting Lake, carries on the discussion to the wetland eco-tourism sustainable development countermeasure.Wetland ecosystem is a very fragile ecosystem. It is an important form of implementing eco-tourism sustainable development to launch the wetland eco-tourism. It is also an important way to realize the sustainable utilization of eco-tourism resources, the ecological environmental protection and the economical development to coordinate each other with the Trinity.Just as other kind of tourism, the exploitations of wetlands tourism bring huge economic benefit. But it also causes certain amount of environmental influences. So the relationships between the tourism development and the environmental protection should be correctly dealt with estimating the threshold of tourists, forecasting the environment capacity of wetland tourism and so on. The exploitation should be based on the protection in order not to harm the environment of the wetland.As a result, the sustainable wetlands tourism should follow these countermeasures below. The reasonable wetland tourism planning should be worked out according to the theory of landscape ecology. The law and regulation of wetland tourism should be built. The plan of the environment protection should be made. At the same time wetland management should follow the principle of community participation, which can make the inhabitants realize the importance of wetland resources so that they will protect the resources Consciously. Only by this can wetland tourism reduce the contradiction of wetland tourism and environment protection and the ecological function of wetland be maintained and restored. Eventually wetland tourism will attain the demands of sustainable wetland tourism, and attain sustainable development target gradually. On the basis of making investigations to wetland and eco-tourism resources and state of development of tourist industry of the West Dongting Lake, the paper puts forward theory basis and the implementation content which conforms to the West Dongting Lake wetland eco-tourism system plan and the development from the eco-tour system, ecological environmental program etc, and provides the basis for the West Dongting Lake wetland eco-tourism sustainable development.
