Foreign Economic and Technical Aid has been an indispensable component of Chinese diplomacy and foreign economic relations, as well as the important content of Chinese international obligation after the establishment PRC. From 1950 to 1978, Chinese Foreign Economic and Technical Aid experienced a period of twists and turns with political and economic situation changes at home and abroad. The author systematically examines the history of Chinese Foreign Economic and Technical Aid. According to the characteristics of Chinese Foreign Economic and Technical Aid in every phase, the author divides the period of Chinese Foreign Economic and Technical Aid into three phases, namely, origination, development, rapid increase and policy adjustment. From 1950 to 1963, China put importance to aid Vietnam, North Korea and other socialist countries. At the same time, related policies and systems had been shaped as a preliminary form. In 1964, China proposed eight principles of Foreign Economic and Technical Aid and increased aid the related Asian and African countries from the scope to the scale. From 1971 to 1978, Chinese Foreign Economic and Technical Aid once exceeded the national affordability. The Communist Party of China and The Government had adjusted the related policies. On the basis of comprehensively examines the history of Chinese Foreign Economic and Technical Aid, analyses its features, successful effects, experience and lessons, in order to provide some suggestions for Chinese Foreign Economic and Technical Aid in the future.
