An Analysis Of The Correlation Between Technological Competitiveness And Economic Synthesis Strength Of Capital City In Middle Region

According to Systematic perspective, science & technology and economy can be regarded as two subsystems of a social development system, the benign interaction of which will promote social progress and development. The East and the West got the rapid economic development by the support of scientific & technological research and technological innovation activities. In this situation of "pincer attack", the economic development of middle region was facing severe challenges and pressures, whereas, the capitals of these provinces are the important part in promoting the economic development of these provinces. Therefore, the systematic study of Correlation Analysis between Technological Competitiveness and Economic Synthesis Strength of Capital City in Middle Region and the research in finding out effective measures are value for theory and practice.The present status of technological competitiveness and economic development theory in the domestic and foreign, and the basic connotation and characteristic and mutual relations of urban technological Competitiveness and economic Synthesis strength had been overviewed in this thesis.According to the relevant theories of Urban technological Competitiveness and combining with the actual situation of Capital City in Middle Region,18 indicators of evaluation on Urban technological Competitiveness had been built from science and technology investment, education platform, science and technology output.20 indicators of evaluation on Urban economic Synthesis strength had been built from Total Economy, economic growth, economic efficiencies and foreign trade.By using principal components analysis, the paper obtained the composed score of each urban technological Competitiveness and economic Synthesis strength. It is sorted that the level of science & technology of Wuhan and Changsha are above the average all the time, Hefei and Zhengzhou approach the average level. Nanchang and Taiyuan are in a poor level.By using Regression analysis, the paper obtained the functional relationship between technological Competitiveness and economic Synthesis strength of each urban, and the average functional relationship between technological Competitiveness and economic Synthesis strength of Capital City in Middle Region. The results indicate that, there is a strong correlation between technological competitiveness and economic Synthesis strength. The static and dynamic analysis of coordination is undertaken to science & technology competitiveness and comprehensive economic strength of these cities in this paper.Finally, the paper provides with measures in enhancing technological Competitiveness and economic Synthesis strength of Nanchang.
