An Application Study On Knowledge Audit In Enterprise's Knowledge Management

When the human society steps into the knowledge economy era from the industrial age, Knowledge Management has become the most representative management theory and method to enterprises under the circumstance of modern knowledge economy. The strategy of enterprise management and development which has emphasized on the knowledge management has been considered as a consensus between the theory field and the practice field. However, in fact, many enterprises in the actual implementation of knowledge management activities didn't receive the expected results. In response to this phenomenon, the relative scholars began to study and found that its main reason lies in when the enterprises implement the knowledge management they didn't define and confirm the organization's knowledge status quo first and not combine the management practice with the regular measurement for the management efficiency either. So, if the organizations try to implement the knowledge management successfully they must build a mechanism to grantee it self's KM effectiveness. The Knowledge Audit is a new tool in the knowledge management field which is a systematic investigation, examination, verification, measurement and evaluation of explicate and tacit knowledge resources and assets, in order to determine how efficiently and effectively they used and leveraged by the organization. The output of the audit is a diagnostic and prognostic report on organization's current knowledge status quo.In this paper, Firstly the author analyzes the relative theory of Knowledge Audit, and makes a detailed discussion on K-audit's definition, audit object, and its core components, also offers a deep analysis on its function to the organizations. And then on the basis of the comparative analysis of existing knowledge audit methods and processes between domestic and abroad, the paper builds a model of enterprise knowledge audit framework, and gives detailed procedures and processes about how to execute a K-audit in enterprise by a case study. Finally, according to case analysis, the final audit results can be clear and accurate diagnosis for their problems in the current knowledge management situation, meanwhile, countermeasures is put forward to realize organization's goals. Hoping that through this research, the K-audit model and audit procedures put forward by this paper could conduct the K-audit activities in enterprise in the future.
