The Comparative Study On Innovation Of Manufacturing Industry And Service Industry

As for the study of industry innovation,the most of study focus on the system's operation law and strategic choice from the perspective of allocation efficiency of scarce resources.Since Schumpeter proposed innovation theory, innovation in promoting economic development have become increasingly prominent, and was general concern of the scholars. However, the most research on innovation was only focused on the manufacturing rather than the service industry. The researchers have come to realize innovation of services in recent years.In the 21st century, with the end of the transition period since China entered WTO, Enhancing industrial innovation and building innovation-oriented country has been an importantly fundamental national policy. Under this circumstance, by the comparative study on innovation of manufacturing and services, not only can we avoid the simple imitation of services industry on manufacturing,but it can provide the theory basis for formulate the innovation policy for manufacturing and services separately.On the basis of innovation theory and from the services and manufacturing innovation process, this article analyzes the essence of manufacturing and services innovation is just for the enhancing competition. The manufacturing's type mainly is about the technology innovation including the product innovation and process innovation. The services innovation focuses the organization innovation. Compared with the manufacturing product innovation, the services product innovation has three characteristic:intangible, replaceable and progressive. What's more, for the manufacturing, customers don't take part in the innovation process and they just the taker of innovation and play little role in the innovation. On the contrary for the services, the services innovation is customers'need-oriented and they can help a lot with the outcome of innovation.By Principal Component Analysis and DEA, we can draw the conclusion that the innovation capital and human resources play importantly on manufacturing industry and service industry. But for the manufacturing, innovation capital plays more important role than the human resources.And the human resource has a more influence on the service industry innovation than the innovation capital.This is the difference between manufacturing and services.The average innovation efficiency for manufacturing and services is 0.548 and 0.624. We can tell that there are barely any difference on the innovation efficiency for manufacturing and services. The overall innovation performance is not good and the difference between industries is large.
