PVC plastic as an important raw material is widely applied to industry, agriculture, construction, electricity, automotive, appliance, packaging and public utilities industries. With the domestic capacity and output of PVC production growing, energy saving and environmental protection requirements of large-scale production facilities, large-scale demand have been urgent,especially with more than 70m~3 polymerizer production process becoming more sophisticated,large-scale of PVC-drying device is urgent. There are some shortcomings for the boiling in the production of PVC dry such as high energy, equipment complex, inconvenient operation, high maintenance costs and resin products with instable quality. The air drying process of a cyclone is absent from the large-scale domestic experience, the current capacity is below of 80,000 tons / years, and there are some problems such as the complex process, the high investment, small operating flexibility et al. In this paper, a combination of domestic demand and a company’s relocation project, through designing and selecting a number of important equipment for drying, a 120,000 tons / year of a Tornado air-drying technology is presented, and the output upgrades from 40,000 tons / year to 120,000 tons / year, and the equipment is being installed. The main work in here is as follows:1. Analysis of PVC applications market and development forecasts.2. Analysis and selection of PVC drying process and the scale.3. Analysis of Air drying devices Tornado principle and the process determination4. 120,000 tons / year of PVC dry process plant design, equipment selection and design of non-standard equipment.
