The Point of this dissertation was to explore an analytical method of the injurant and additives in tobacco. On the basis of investigation of a lot of literatures, several HPLC analytical methods have been developed for injurant and additives in tobacco, such as phenolic、carbonyl compounds, sodium cyclamate, salicylic acid and nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA). The methods were simple, rapid, effective, believable and useful.Four main results were obtained as follows:1. A rapid test method was developed for phenolic compounds using HPLC coupled with LUNA C18 column and fluorescence detector (FLD). To achieve the best result, the efficiency of filters, columns and detection conditions were experimented. The results of the analysis of standard cigarettes showed that the method was believable.2. The carbonyl compounds in smoke were derived and simultaneously absorbed by DNPH-treated Cambridge filters, then extracted by acetonitrile, finally injected into HPLC. The peaks of target compounds were confirmed by standard addition method. 3. Sodium cyclamate was determined by HPLC after it was derived into N, N-dichloro-cyclohexylamine and then exacted with n-hexane. Mobile phase composition, gradient elution and other chromatographic conditions were optimized; the effect of background was eliminated by diode array detector (DAD). The method was simple, rapid and accurate, even mass spectrometry wasn’t used.4. Different mobile phase and extraction reagents were experimented to get more suitable conditions for salicylic acid and nordihydroguaiaretic acid analysis. The HPLC method was simple, practical and useful for the establishment of detection standards.
