The broad spectrum acaricides Spirodiclofen ,which belongs to the new chemical class of tetronic acid derivatives discovered at Bayer CropScience during the 1990s, has an additional excellent activity against whiteflies and spider mite.The synthesis of Spirodiclofen reported in the literature is rare and there is no large-scale domestic production in our country. Therefore,new study of Spirodiclofen on the technology and application will be significance for theoretical and valuable for society. Base on the literature researched,the study on the technology of Spirodiclofen and fifteen novel tetronic acide compounds were introduced in detail through two part in the article.In the first part,adoping the cyclohexanone for the main beginning raw material,the Spirodiclofen is given by the cyanic reation,hydrolysis reaction,the ester reaction,the phenyl-acetyl reaction ,the condensation reaction, acidification and the acylnic reaction.The total yield reaches to 56.7% base on the cyclohexanone.The cost of 98% above purity product is about 20 thousands a ton.And this has been proved by industrial production.The key factors that may affect each step are anatomized and each reaction conditions are optimized. In the preparation of 1-hydroxycyclohexane carbontitrile based on acid hydrogen cyanide contributes a economic product for the manufacturers used it;The design of "shower like waste gas treatment system"through fabrication solves the problem of waste gas absorption very well; Our Spirodiclofen accords with export standard by recrystallization with efficient mixed solvents,and the Spirodiclofen become competitive whether in appearance or in purity.The second part mainly discussion about the preparation of fifteen novel tetronic acid compounds in three series.The structures are listed as follows:Their structures were confirmed by means of ~1H NMR、MS and EA.Three single crystals of these compounds were studied by X-ray determinstion.The results of acaricidal biological test show that most of these compounds possess good activity,and several have high potential value as novel acaricide.
