In this paper, extractoin of fucoxanthin from Laminaria japonica using the organic solvent and its antioxidant in vitro were studied. In order to raise utilization ratio of Laminaria japonica and develop processes trade, we also extracted the fucodian from the residue of Laminaria japonica.Single-factor experiments were adopted to study the effects of such factors as different solvent, temperature, time and solid-liquid ratio. The results showed that the optimal parameters for extraction were as follows:10times80%MeOH (v/v) at40℃(2×3h). Under these conditions, the yield was0.556mg/g.Fucoidan aslo was extracted from residue of Laminaria japonica. The parameters of extraction was determined with the yield of fucoidan as markers by one-factor experiment design. The optimum parameters for extraction was showed as follows:60times water (pH3.0) at90℃(7h). In addition, decolorization of fucoidan with active carbon was studied. The effects of temperature, time, pH and amount of active carbon on fucoidan decolorization were studied. The optimal parameters were as follows:2.0active carbon at40℃(pH3.0,40min).
