Detonating tube, an indispensable component to be used for connecting network in blasting engineering, plays a significant part in explosive materials. Currently domestic detonating tube manufacture are of low automaticity, and shearing, winding,bundling, sealing and labeling process still mainly depend manual operating. Therefore, working strength is so intense that will seriously restrict production efficiency, which will hinder the development of enterprises also. Relative research on multi-function unity machine is carried out but the practical application is very rare.Based on500m package detonating tube of a factory as the research object, this paper succeeds in developing the automatic shear-seal-bundle machine for detonating tube which can achieve shearing, winding, bundling, sealing and labeling in one. The equipment greatly improves production efficiency with high stability, as well as simple operation and less material. The sections of the paper are as follows:Introduces the present industry development of detonating tube production and existing problems in the first chapter, and discusses the significance of research on the automated production equipment of detonating tube. Based on computer-aided design and traditional experience design methods, make the process route and layout of the equipment by PRO/E software, virtual assembly, interference excluding.Description of working principle and working process of strapping device, especially the parameter and line transportation process of slider-crank mechanism. Kinematics simulation analysis of strapping device to find out the unreasonable structure, then modify virtual prototype and go on with analysis until achieve the desirable result.Some of the components parameters are selected by experience, which is a little conservative and will waste materials, increase cost, add the inertial, affect the stability of the mechanism and increase the noise. In this paper, optimization design of support and connection plate with the help of the Design Explorer module ANSYS Workbench to mitigate its weight and meet the strength requirement at the same time, which will lead to the lightweight part. Modal analysis was carried out on the equipment to get the vibration mode and natural frequency of vibration is obtained, by changing the round plate work speed to avoid the resonance frequency. On the pneumatic system design, including the selection and determination of all kinds of valves, cylinder finally design the pneumatic circuit diagram of the system. Mitsubishi’s FR-FX2N PLC models are chosen as the central processor and introduces the design and development of the whole control system. There are manual and auto modes, which is convenient for testing and production. After trial production and preliminary debugging, all the machine performance are acceptable. In the end, the paper summarizes all the work done, and prospect on the future research.
