At the time as universal belt conveyor is toward the development of large capacity, long-distance and high belt speed, in order to apply to requirements of transporting materials in a particular place and environment, different forms of special belt conveyor appear, and applications in industry are increasing. The corrugated sidewall conveyor is especially suitable for large-dipped continuous conveying bulk materials, maximum dip can reach90°The corrugated sidewall conveyor can reduce the area, save investments in equipment and construction costs, move steady and reliably, have small noise. Good process performance and structural performance of corrugated sidewall conveyor can be acquired through integrated method, and reliability, security and work life can be increased.Motion and force of materials when centrifugal discharge and gravity discharge are analyzed by Kinematics, conditions for the occurrence of critical state are resolved, the movements on belt of materials are researched, discharge trajectory equations are established, discharge trajectories are drew by computer.The discharge processes of corrugated sidewall conveyor are simulated, curve of speed of material and curve of distance from material to the pulley are got, discharge trajectories got by simulation are mapped. Results of simulation are compared with results of theoretical analysis, errors of blanking distance are no more than5%when drop heights of materials are the same, theoretical analysis is proved to be correct.Lateral stiffness of base belt of corrugated sidewall conveyor is finite element analyzed by ANSYS software, so that the life is improved. The analysis results show:enduring external loads, such as self-gravity, pressure of materials and tension at each end, the base belt has significant lateral deformation. The horizontal deflection of base belt is calculated by finite element calculation, so that lateral stiffness of base belt is determined whether meet the requirements.Capacity of corrugated sidewall conveyor is optimized. That capacity has a relationship with height of cross cleat, space of cross cleat, type of material, transmission angle, width of belt and speed of belt is determined. In certain transport conditions, the maximum capacity is obtained when height of cross cleat and space of cross cleat are selected reasonably.
