Powder technology was applied widely in modern industry nowadays. With the rapid development of flour production industries, the accidents such as dust explosion were increased, which was deduced by the flour dust clouds. By far, many severe dust explosion had happened around the world, and caused great losses of lives and wealthAt first, the required conditions, mechanism, characteristic, and hazards were introduced in this thesis. The enterprise, Shenyang xiang snow flour limited corporate, was selected as a case study, which is the largest one in Northeastern Zone of China. Some apparatus were identified as the ignition sources of dust explosion. The causes of clouds and their explosion were analyzed deeply.According to the hazard identifications and production process, an evaluation of grain silo was done by the fire&explosion index. The results showed that the probability of dust explosion induced by the apparatus was low. The area whose radius was36m was determined as the zone of dust explosion.Secondly, the dust explosion simulation of grain silo was done. According to the venting area, and the length of spraying-up flame and salvageable debris, the safe distances within the industry were satisfied.Finally, some specific methods of precaution and protestation were proposed to compensate the short of safety methods and weak places, and to decrease the negative affects of explosion.
