Lubricant additives are petroleum products which can greatly improve the property oflubricating oil even if a few is added. Since its inception, it has always been concerned amongthe scholars from various countries as its low cost and high additive value products. Metaldetergents, as a main additive for internal-combustion engine lubricating oil, has an importantrole to play in combustion engine lubrication, especially nanoscale calcium saltdetergents have earned more and more concerns. So, the research of related technology isvery meaningful. In this study, through analysis and adjustment of process technique ofnanoscale calcium salt detergents of Liaoning BD Chemical Co., Ltd, some problems ofproduct was solved successfully.The effects of the four domestic sulfuric acid and a foreign sulfuric acid raw materials onthe synthesis of neutral salt, middle based, over based calcium sulfonate were studied in thispaper. The optimum domestic sulfuric acid raw material was determined by means ofexperiments investigation. In order to seek feasible ratio of it to the foreign sulfuric acid rawmaterial, a series of experiment of preparing the over based calcium sulfonate wereinvestigated. The base oil, calcium hydroxide, also took methanol as the accelerant, the typesof accelerants, the amount rate and volume of carbon dioxide on the synthesis of high alkalinecalcium sulfonate were investigated at the optimum percents of materials. At the same time,the addition methods of methanol, accelerant FO and accelerant T were also researched, andthe suitable technology conditions were determined.The result shown that the domestic sulfuric acid raw materials D was better raw material,when the domestic sulfuric acid D to foreign sulfuric acid was9:1, the base number of overbased calcium sulfonate was the best. The result about new processes indicates that theoptimal conditions for this synthesis are referred to as the amount of base oil being120g, theamount of calcium hydroxide being100g, the amount of methanol being26g, accelerantagent being T, the flow rate of carbon dioxide being250mL/min, and the amount of carbondioxide being27L, better way to join and adding level of methanol is to join6ml in front ofthe neutralization reaction and20ml before joining for the first time calcification, the suitableway of accelerant T is adding10ml before the first calcification, the right means of joiningaccelerant FO is to join6ml in the neutralization reaction. Results of performance IR, showthat all the properties of the product are fit for industry standards.
