For the past few years, tight oil reservoirs have become an important substitute for oilresource in China with the growing shortage of oil resources. First, the current research anddevelopment status of the tight oil reservoirs in china and abroad is reviewed. Then, the paperstudies the basic theory of tight oil reservoir fracturing in horizontal wells and focuses on themechanism of fracture initiation and propagation. The fracturing software FracproPT is usedto analyze the effects of physical properties of tight sandstone on fracturing. Aiming at thegeological fractures of tight sandstone in Ordos Basin, the technical approaches, difficultiesand solutions of fracturing in tight oil reservoir is analyzed, and the staged fracturingtechnology in open hole horizontal well is chosen as the core technology to develop tight oilreservoir by the help of the same exploration experience abroad. The fracturing materials areoptimized and the fracturing software FracproPT is used to select the fracturing operationparameters. For Chang8tight sandstone reservoir of Yishan Slope in Ordos Basin, a small fracturingexperiment is conducted to obtain the mechanics parameters of stratum and rock, and thedesign and construction of horizontal well fracturing is finished. From the fracturingconstruction performance and the results of the small fracturing experiment, hydraulicfracturing is recognized as a complex construction process in detail. Finally, the optimizationof construction parameters and fracture parameters is completed for hydraulic fracturing. Inorder to further popularize research results, this paper summarizes the application conditions, technology, and feasibility of horizontal well fracturing in the development of tight oilreservoirs.
