In this paper, silicone modified acrylate composite resin were successfullyprepared with raw materials of methyl methacrylate, styrene and n-butyl methacrylate,ethyl acrylate, acrylic acid, silane coupling agent. the effect of organosilicone,nano-silica, silane coupling agent, pH value and curing agent on composite resinstructure, hardness, impact resistance, water resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance,aging resistance and other properties were respectively investigated by the coatingphysical and chemical properties testing.The result of fourier infrared spectrum (IR) of the prepared silicone modifiedacrylate resin by solution polymerization showed that the skeleton structure of siliconemodified acrylate resin was similar to that of pure acrylate polymer, just only vibrationabsorption peak intensity was different; with reaction system pH value between2~3andinvariant KH570content, the comprehensive performance of composite resin, forexample, water resistance and aging resistance, increased at first and then decreasedwith the increase of the content of modified silica. Especially, the comprehensiveperformance was relatively excellent when the content of modified silica sol was20%.Adding silane coupling agent A151can dramatically improve the water resistance. Theresults of fourier infrared spectrum of nano-silicon dioxide modified acrylic compositeresin which was prepared with adding nano-silica into pure acrylic resin indicated thatcompared with the original resin, vibration peak of modified resin had certain deviation,proving the silicon components have been grafted copolymerization onto acrylatepolymer molecules when adding nano silicon dioxide into pure acrylic resin;nano-silicon dioxide particle size enlarged with the increase of pH value. The betterperformance of composite coating materials could be got when nano silica addition amount was10%and the curing agent content35%. Silicone modified waterborneacrylate paint coating was fabricated by sectionally joining titanium dioxide pigmentand precipitated barium sulfate fillers, adding solvent and complex solubilizer. Whenthe proportion of pigments and resin was1.5, hiding power, glossiness and mechanicsperformance of the coating would be better.Silicone modified acrylic resin contains Si-O-Si bonds, Si-C bonds and possessessome excellent properties such as solvent resistance, high and low temperatureresistance, oxidation degradation resistance, hydrophobic, fouling resistance andelectrical insulation, and can effectively solve many defects of the acrylic resin coatingand strong rigidity, poor gloss and easy to crack of colloidal silica coating; theperformance of the prepared novel resin products was obviously better than that of pureacrylic resin.
