Assessment On The Carrying Capacity Of Fujian Province Off Shore

The ocean is the cradle of life and the homes of human beings as well as the treasure trove of the resources.The ocean resources are a precious wealth that human society can realize continual development. The development of marine industry is an important way to solve a series of problems of population expansion, resources shortage and environmental deterioration, which human society has been facing currently. However, with the development of marine economy, extensive mode of production and poor production technology have caused the predatory exploitation of marine resources and environmental pollution along coastal marine regions. And marine resources shortage, environmental pollution and ecological damage have been the main districted factors of developing marine economy in the future, which calls an in-depth research on carrying capacity of marine environment in order to implement strategy of sustainable development of oceans. The carrying capacity of marine region is the very kind of quantitative measuring index reflecting the harmony relationship of people and nature.In this thesis, based on the previous researches on the carrying capacity of the oceans and taken the coastal cities and counties in Fujian Province as the research subjects, the present author is going to build an evaluation index system to evaluate the marine carrying capacity of the coastal cities and counties in Fujian Province by analyzing the factors which influence the carrying capacity of marine region. Then the present author is going to carry out the index weight by analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Finally, the present author is going to put forward countermeasures of developing the carrying capacity of each marine region by calculating the scores of the carrying capacity of each marine region and making a comparative analysis on the special differences of the carrying capacity of marine region in each county.
