Existence of coordination compounds is very common in nature. Since Diesbachoccasionally obtained Prussian Blue in1704, theoretical and experimental studies ofcoordination chemistry have made rapid development. Many kinds of metal complexes formedthrough different coordination ways having particular three-dimensional structure can be usedin synthesis of new functional composite materials because of their potential value incatalysis,conductivity, optical, magnetic field and life sciences.The4H,4’H-2,2’-bichromene-4,4’-dione(short for BCDO) we synthesized,which emitedclear characteristic fluorescence and showed a good ESR spectra, is a new kind of stableorganic molecular free radical.On the basis of above, in this paper six kinds of new3d-metalcomplexes have been synthesized by using BCDO ligand.The main research includes:(1) Phthalic anhydride and succinic acid as raw materials, new batches of BCDO weresynthesized. Its structure characterized by IR,1HNMR, HRMS was proved right.(2)Six kinds of BCDO-M(M=Fe3+、Co2+、Ni2+) complexes,numbered as2a~2f insequence were obtained by reaction between stable organic molecular radical BCDO andtransition metal salts by using solution method and hydrothermal method.The BCDO-Mcomplexes were characterized by IR,1HNMR, HRMS and their possible structure werespeculated. Furthermore, the hydrothermal method was proved to be better.(3) It is noticeable that the complexes2a~2f emit at500~600nm fluorescence ofdifferent relative intensity when excited at456nm、485nm and516nm. Determination ofUV-vis absorption and fluorescence spectra of BCDO-M complexes showed that fluorescenceproperty of2a~2d is much better than2e~2f.(4)Take complex2b as fluorescent probe, the CMC of dioctadecyl dimethyl ammoniumchloride(D1821) was determined. The measured value was0.1mmol·L-1, consistent with thereported results. Simultaneously the experimental result confirmed the viability of using thenew synthesized BCDO-M complexes as fluorescent probes.
