ECM-Classic Machine Control System Design

With the fast development of the manufacturing industry, production techniques have become increasingly demanding. Conventional surface finishing process cannot satisfy the requirement of practical applications. In other countries, a new kind of surface finishing process has been quietly rising-an electrochemical process machines (also called ECM). ECM machine is based on electrochemical processes redox principle of primary cells and electrolytic cell and Faraday’s theorem. The use of a metal surface in the case of burrs will discharge the metal ions in the electrolyte redox reaction so as to achieve the purpose of removing excess metal surface.In this thesis, the basic principle of ECM machine will be introduced, and the hardware frame of ECM machine and its control system will be constructed. And then, we finish the design of the signal acquisition unit, pneumatic control unit, filter unit and HMI unit. Besides, some key principles are also analyzed in detail.Finally, the test of processing the special parts is made, which shows that the proposed ECM machine meets the requirements of design, and has reasonable design and reliable structure.
