At present,WEDM is one of the important nontraditional machining methods,which has been widely used in mould manufacturing,precision components and special material processing.WEDM-LS had been widely application in international,which in improving cutting efficiency,machining accuracy,surface quality and other aspects.Dry WEDM is a new technology compared with the traditional WEDM,dry WEDM has lots of advantages,such as excellent straightness,narrow discharge gap,no electrolytic corrosion on surface,non-polluted in the machining processing and so on.It applies to finishing machining.This paper summarized the principle of pulse discharge in WEDM-LS machining processing.Describes dry WEDMI-LS process evaluation,as well as how electrical parameters and non-electric parameters impact surface roughness and cutting speed.It introduced the testing machine DK7632,mcasuring tools SLR220 as well the scanning electron microscope FEI Sirion.In order to better study the impact of various factors on the process.This paper designed single factor test in which elements contained pulse duration,pulse interval,peak current,servo reference voltage,main power supply voltage,servo feed,wire speed,offset and technical indexes contained surface roughness and cutting speed,there is impact discipline impact of single factor on surface roughness and cutting speed by analysis to experiental results,optional range of processing parameters and the optimal parameters.This paper also designed orthogonal test in which elements contained pulse duration,pulse interval,peak current,servo reference voltage,servo feed and interactions in above-mentioned five elements and technical indexes contained surface roughness and cutting speed.There is a rank of elements for technical indexes by analysis of range.There were significant elements for technical indexes by analysis of variance.And get s stepwise regression model on the basis of test results.At last,this paper developed WEDM-LS technology database on the basis of the test results,processing parameters provided by the manufacturer,informations of domestic manufacturers,commonly used terminology as well as the disipline chart of technical indexes.
