High-pressure water jet incremental sheet metal forming is an advanced manufacturetechnology that is developed on the basis of plastic forming, CNC, computer andhigh-pressure water jet technologies. It’s a kind of green processing technology which hasextremely development potential for forming without the need of lubricating oil.In this paper, the forming principle of the high-pressure water jet incremental sheet metalforming is researched. The parameters and the stress, strain in the deformation process ofhigh-pressure water jet incremental sheet metal forming were analyzed, and the deformationlaw is obtained. The method of orthogonal experimental design was used in the process offorming process of cup parts by high-pressure water jet incremental forming was simulatedwith the finite element simulation software ABAQUS in order to analyze various processparameters which can affect the precision of high-pressure water jet sheet metal forming.Studies have shown that these process parameters selection and optimization of combinationcan effectively improve the cup parts precision of high pressure water jet incremental forming,is also the important condition of success in high pressure water jet incremental sheet metalforming. These laid the theoretical basis for future research.The mechanism of difficulty on the wall of cup part during forming is analyzed. Amethod is given to form vertical wall cup parts, though which a cone parts is gradually forminto vertical wall cup parts by multi-time forming. The cause of defects seriously affect thequality of the high-pressure water jet incremental sheet metal forming, such as fracture,wrinkle, and depression, are analyzed to put forward a variety of measures to remove thesedefects in order to a good result achieve. |
