Ball is the key equipment after the material is broken, and then to smash. It is widely used in cement, silicate products, new building materials, refractories, chemical fertilizer, non-ferrous metals and glass ceramics and other production industries. All kinds of ores and other grind-able materials may be grinding of dry or wet grinding. Thus, in the process of normal work, requires ball mill has high reliability and safety in order to ensure the normal production and avoid major economic losses. The actual data show that the main reason for failure is caused by the rotating body, reflected in the cracking of the cylinder and end caps and bolts sudden breaking. Therefore, the strength analysis of ball rotating body and the lightweight analysis of cover have extremely important significance to improve the fatigue strength of the reliability of ball mill and ensure security and stability in milling process.In order to study and solve these problems, the paper takes the MQY5585as research object. Based on the domestic and international papers and thesis, analysis the structure and research on the mechanical properties of ball mill system, the system deformation and lightweight cover. Specifically includes the following aspects:(1) The paper sketches out the development process of ball mill technology and summarizes the structure of ball mill and its working principle. The cylinder body materials and crushing medium theoretical analysis and parameter calculation, which make preparation for the subsequent finite element analysis of strength;(2) On the basis of the parameters of MQY5585, using the Equivalent density method to calculate the load of this ball mill under three kinds of typical working conditions including full-load static condition, normal condition and start operating condition. Then the solid modeling of the ball mill is made by using the finite element analysis software ANSYS, the load and constraint are also applied on it. After the processor is finished, analysis the strength, stiffness and modal of the ball mill system in three typical conditions, and conform the law of stress distribution and rotation deformation and displacement of the ball mill, verify the design scheme of the ball mill strength and stiffness is reasonable.(3) Combined with practical work, the lightweight design has been used dealing with the problem of cracking of heavy cover. Through the analysis of the feed and discharge end cover, we can draw the dangerous position and be able to optimize the analysis.This paper provides a theoretical basis for the design and analyze of the ball mill system. Under the premise of safe production, it is meaningful for reducing failure probability of the ball mill. Analyzing the influence of the total deformation for oil film bearing capacity has some engineering significance.
