Emergency shutdown device is an effective safety system of chemical plant.Emergency shutdown device in the production process of the chemical plant does not require human intervention. When the plant emergency occurs,the emergency shutdown device will shut down and direct trigger the interlock signal of plant into a safety state, and reduce the risk to an acceptable level. Emergency shutdown device have become an important part of the chemical automation.This thesis described the characteristics of the emergency shutdown device, and the necessity of emergency shutdown device in the petrochemical industry. Then analyzed the characteristics and standards of the emergency shutdown device in today’s mainstream, discussed the design method and the principle of selection. Combined with the characteristics of this chemical plant to select the appropriate emergency shutdown device, and reflect the superiority and security of the emergency shutdown device in this project. Then introduced the selection and installation of emergency shutdown device in this project. About the safety of technology, the thesis selected more reliable instrument to participate in interlock control, and set up the instrument loop, in order to complete the overall installation of emergency shutdown device. Using the system, the ESD system will effectively ensure the safety of chemical plant.The ESD system has been successfully applied in BPA、PC integrated unit. The thesis can to provide some reference to related research.
