High Pressure Jet Assisted Drilling Cement Plug

This article did the research of high pressure assisted drilling plug cement technologybased on the problems of low drilling speed, easily sticking, long operation time,complicated operation and high cost for the extensive use of sidetracked hole. Afterinvestigation of the sidetracked drilling plug cement in Sheng Li oil field, it showed that:(1) As the increasing operation of drilling the sidetracked hole, the number of boreholeoperation to plug the well and change the oil layer becomes more and more. So theoperations of drilling the cement plug also increase significantly.(2) Now some technologies for drilling the cement plug such as the drag bits are alsoused in Sheng Li oil field, this kinds of technology are so out of time that leads to thoseproblems, it seriously effects on the well`s daily operations.(3) The high pressure jet assisted drilling cement plug technology is one boreholeoperation technology that combined the high pressure jet with mechanical. it has thetremendous potential to solve the difficulties faced in drilling the cement plug.This article makes a theoretical analysis of the high pressure water jet assisted drillingcement plug firstly, and optimizes the hydraulics, and then design the PDC bit applying fordrilling the cement plug. And then do laboratory experiment to break the cement plug bychanging the PDC bits`structure and hydraulics`s effect. Finally examine the ability of thePDC bits through the field experiments.The field experiments shows that the new type high pressure jet assisted drillingcement plug PDC bits can improve the drilling speed about95%,64%and130%,comparing the normal bits. This proves that the design of the PDC bits is reasonable andthis technology has the outstanding effect on enhancing the drilling cement plug speed.
