The Research Of Coiled Tubing Sidetracked Tools And Technology

Compared with conventional drilling, coiled tubing drilling technology has the advantage of low operation cost, environmental friendly construction, high automation degree and efficiency. It is widely used in deepening the sidetracked well, shallow the vertical well and underbalanced drilling. Also, it is a good way to realize low-cost and high-efficiency exploration for stability potential and effect on old oilfield, low-permeability oil reservoir and coal bed methane exploration. There is no application of coiled tubing drilling in well site at the moment. we carried out research of coiled tubing sidetracked tools and craft in recent years, but it only runs at the experimental stage. Research on coiled tubing sidetracked tools and technology, then applied in the well site maturely, it has taken on a good significance for Chinese drilling technology development.This paper investigated and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of many coiled tubing drilling tools abroad, according to theoretical analysis and our practical requirement,we independently developed the mechanical-electrical-hydraulic integration of coiled tubing sidetracked tools in international advanced level. To verify the rationality of the tools, we calculated the torque output, risk transverse sections and thread strength. Experiments of testing compression, tension, torsion, anti-vibration and thermal stability were completed to verity their reliability. By studying the application examples of coiled tubing sidetrack drilling abroad, we developed coiled tubing casing sidetracking and coiled tubing directional drilling technology to solve practical problems in China. Achieving milling while drilling, the field tests of coiled tubing sidetracked tools turned out to be totally success, which would lay a solid foundation for improving this technology and preparing to enter the market.
