With the rapid development of economy in China, the trend of motorization ismore and more obvious in our country and the residents’ living standard improved, which led to the increasing demand of transportation. So energy consumption oftransportation sector increases year by year in China. Transportation sector graduallybecomes one of the main sectors of CO2emissions in China. So to explore the causeof the high CO2emissions, the transportation department and the degree of the effectsof quantitative analysis, the development of China’s low-carbon transport hasimportant instruction significance. In this dissertation, the author revises existing statistical data in China using oilapportionment method. After getting transportation energy consumption, the autheraccount the CO2emissions of China’s transportation during1996-2011. Energyconsumption and CO2emissions of the transportation are increasing. Energyconsumption are78.396million tons of standard coal in1996and321.977milliontons of standard coal in2011, the average growth rate is19.4%. At the same time,CO2emissions increased from179.319million tons to747.522million tons, theaverage growth rate is19.8%. In the transportation sector, oil consumption accountsfor the proportion of the total energy consumption rose from89.0%to97.8%during1996-2011. CO2emissions of oil accounted for the proportion of CO2emissions from80.7%to88.0%.Then the author analyzed CO2emission situation and characteristics oftransportation sector form1996to2000. Based on the results, factor decompositionmodel of CO2emissions in China’s transportation sector was built, and then analyzedthe effects of traffic energy structure, traffic energy intensity, economic activity andpopulation quantity on CO2emissions of transportation sector from1996to2000. Theresults showed that CO2emissions of transportation sector are on rise. Economicactivity and population are two promotion factors to change the CO2emissions oftransportation sector, and traffic energy structure and energy intensity always hadnegative effect, having an important role for reducing CO2emissions. According tothe result, the suggestions and related policies of CO2emissions reduction oftransportation were put forward. Finally, to analyze the existing low carbon transportation tools for energyconservation and emissions reduction. By taking hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) andblade electric vehicles (BEV) as research subjects, the author analyzed energy andcarbon dioxide emission of HEV and BEV in vehicles fuels life cycle. According tothe result, energy saving rates of HEV and BEV were24.24%and37.23%in2011. Atlast, the author puts forward the emission reduction countermeasures.
