The storage tank is an important structure in the petroleum and petrochemical industries.With the rapid development of economic, more and more large-scale tanks are widely used inthe petroleum and petrochemical industries of the country. Due to the needs of military covert,the shortage of urban land, the progress of the technology of underground space and so on,large underground storage tanks are widely applied. However, most tanks are filled withinflammable and explosive liquid. Once the tanks are destroyed, the leakage will negativelyaffect the national economy. So it is very important to research the static analysis of largestorage tank and the dynamic response of the storage tanks suffered by the earthquake. Thetanks buried underground can be destroyed very easily in terms of strength and stability,because of the soil pressure. Therefore, it is very important to analysis the tank with the statictheory. Up to now, the tank has proven to be resistant to earth-shock by being subject tomultiple earth quakes. This will neglect the creation of earth-shock, which is unsafe. The textconsiders the related factors to do the reliability analysis of the tanks affected by theearth-shock. Thus, it provides the evidence for the decision maker.The text analyzes two kinds of large-scale tanks which is underground, including verticaltank and horizontal tank.First, designed the large vertical buried storage tanks. A big vertical tank that affected bysoil pressure and earthquake was simulated and analyzed using ANSYS. Get the reaction ruleof the large vertical tanks affected by soil pressure and earth-shock, which provides thereference for the design.Then, designed the large horizontal buried storage tanks. A big horizontal tank thataffected by soil pressure and earthquake was simulated and analyzed using ANSYS. Get thereaction rule of the large horizontal tanks affected by soil pressure and earth-shock, whichprovides the reference for the design.
