Energy is the essential material basis for a country’s survival and development,and oil accounts for 20% of it.The national petroleum reserve base is established to meet the domestic petroleum demand,safeguard the national energy and improve the national petroleum system.As the ideal equipment for oil mass storage,the research and design of large storage tank becomes very important.At present,there are many problems in large storage tanks,such as special steel materials,high cost and difficulty in construction.This paper puts forward a new type of tank design scheme,and demonstrates its feasibility,mainly from the following aspects of research:First,The stability analysis method of large storage tank based on finite element technique is studied.In the first place,the basic assumptions,basic equations,boundary conditions and Saint-Venant principle of elasticity are briefly introduced.And the finite element analysis is based on the theory of elasticity,and then introduces how to discretize the structure in the finite element method,so as to obtain the approximate solution to meet the engineering requirements.Second,Based on the analysis of the traditional tank design methods of fixed point method and variable point method,combined with the design scheme of the quince-shaped cross section proposed in this paper,the wall thickness design scheme and calculation formula of the new tank are obtained.Three,The feasibility of the new tank was demonstrated,finite element analysis was carried out on the structure of the new tank under the water test condition,and the stress linearization was carried out at the position where the thickness of the tank wall changed.The decomposition results of the membrane stress of the tank wall and the sum of the membrane stress and bending stress were obtained.The results were compared with the stress strength checking criterion,and the following results were obtained: The primary and secondary stresses of the new tank meet the stress intensity checking criteria.Fourthly,Then,the allowable critical pressure of the tank wall is compared with the external pressure of the tank wall.The results show that the new tank only needs the normal windproof ring design,without the strengthening ring design.At the same time,the flow field of the new tank under wind load is analyzed,and the structure of the new tank under wind load is analyzed.It is concluded that the new tank will not be unstable when subjected to wind load.The analysis results of this paper show that through theoretical calculation and finite element analysis,the structure of the new storage tank meets the safety requirements in theory,and can achieve the purpose of reducing the thickness of the tank wall and saving the cost,which provides a technical reference for the design and research of the new storage tank.
