Our Nation is one of the largest user and producer in Motorcycles. According tothe Auto-Vehicle Qualified Certificate calculation: In year2009, Auto-VehicleManufacture and Product Declaration has shown the motorcycle manufacturers(Internal Sales) totally produced17,175,000, comparing to the last year, it increased12.8%, with now approximately one-hundred million motorcycles on the street.Motorcycle has higher percentage of death and injury after accident due to itsunique characteristic. As for our country, due to the limitation on the material, lowtechnique, without strict management, and weak conscious for the safety, even worse, helmets with very low quality are flooding over the local markets. In which make ourlocal helmet still have a long way to go than the foreigners.According to the situation, we have done a mass of research on the internal andforeign helmets’ outline and construction through the internet, media, and library. Andhave concluded three basic designing principles to combine theory with practices, anduse actual practices to examine theory. In this thesis we have sort out five main chapters. Chapter One will include thepurpose of research, methods of research, Innovate and the meaning of this thesis.Chapter Two will be talking about the fundamental principle of the helmet’s safetyand categorize helmets’ basic construction. Chapter Three will discuss foreigncountries&local helmets’ actual cases in order for us to understand the helmets’characteristics from past, present, and future. Chapter Four, as the main part of thisthesis, we will show you the basic helmet’s parts thoroughly and analysis it and wewill conclude three basic designing principles. Chapter Five, combining with theoriesand lots of practices, we shall have new theory guidance and case references for ourfuture helmet companies.
