Imidazole and its derivatives were novel heterocyclic compounds. They were widely used in the fields of biochemistry science, medicine and industry of fine chemicals etc. In the past few years imidazole compounds manifested great prospect of applying in areas of composite material, surface treatment of metal, computer science and so on.In this study, inhibited effects to carbon steel were characterized that various of substituent of2-alkyl Benzimidazole synergize with potassium iodide and formaldehyde in hydrochloric acid by ways of weight-loss, polarization curves methods and SEM. The result manifested great inhibited effect to carbon steel with the synergizing system and showed inhibited rate to rise as temperature rising. Both of the synergizing system are a kind of mixed inhibitor which has same effect to inhibit polarization of negative and positive pole. The results of SEM prove the effects of inhibiting. Through analysis of atomic structure, the inhibited system was made qualitative analysis and quantitative calculation according as statistics and theory of dissolved activation energy. Meanwhile, a explanation about the reaction was made.The acid-washing system with Imidazole using as inhibitor has a good inhibited performance. The study shows a extensively application about the Imidazole.
