Synthesis And Properties Of Waterborne Ink’s Binder Resins

With the enhancement of people’s health consciousness, people begin to take more attention to green printing materials. Waterborne ink and dope has gradually substituted traditional solvent ink and dope. Governments all over the world have increased sanitary requirements and conditions for wrapping printing, especially for the food wrapping printing. So in these countries, the research and application of waterborne ink has gone more farther than others’.However, the development of waterborne ink for plastic films is slowness in our country. There are not many literatures until21century. The main binder of waterborne ink for plastic films mainly depends on importation. This article has reached synthesis and application of the binder of waterborne ink for plastic films, coped with relevant corporations, to get independent intellectual property rights, to change actualities in China.This paper has designed and synthesized a water solubile resin. The effects of the reaction conditions, monomers’species and amounts, glass temperature and molecular weight have discussed. This resin has good compatibility with the main resin, pigments and wax to get good constructing conditions.This paper has also researched an emulsion in the view of molecular design and particle design with acrylic monomers. The effects of surface energy, monomers’species and amounts, viscosity, molecular weight and compatible conditions have dicussed. Cross linking functional group has been inducted to improve resin’s water-resistance.Confect these two resins, adding with pigments, wax, film-forming auxiliary agents, foam-eliminator to get waterborne ink, which has been tested on BOPP, LDPE, PET, etc. The result is the glossiness, covering rate, knead-resistance, peel strength and water-resistance of this ink much better than the same domestic products, and the same as overseas products.
