DW-1Collector For The Quartz-type Fluorite Ore Flotation At Ambient Temperature

Fatty acids are commonly used as fluorite flotation collectors, but their freezing point is high, their solubility at low temperature in slurry is small and they are slow to disperse. In order to improve the flotation effect pulp needs to be heated.DW-1is a novel cold-resistant collector mainly contains sodium aliphatate, it was investigated for the quartz-fluorite ore in Hunan province under8℃temperature in this paper.Grinding test results showed that:the best grinding fineness of the fluorite ore accounted for75%of-0.074mm. Flotation test results showed that in the same collector dosage, the effect on the fluorite flotation of the DW-lis better than that of the sodium oleate, under the ambient temperature of8℃. Using DW-1as collector for the closed-circuit flotation test which beneficiation flowsheet consisting of one roughing, one scavenging, six cleaning and middlings recirculation. The CaF2grade and recovery of fluorite concentrate achieved to98.37%and78.72%respectively, and the grade of SiO2is0.86%、 CaCO3is0.27%、P2O5is0.034%. This procedure can be recommended.Studied the changes of wettability and electrical on pure fluorite and quartz’s surfaces after affected by DW-1collector. By analyzing the infrared spectra studied the adsorption mechanism of collector DW-1in fluorite and quartz’s surfaces. The results showed that:after joining the DW-1collector, the rate of increase of the contact angle in fluorite’s surface is larger than the quartz’s, and the width of shift of zeta potential in the negative direction in fluorite’s surface is larger than the quartz’s. DW-1Collector occurred chemical adsorption in fluorite’s surface but did not in quartz’s.
