Saddle binder head is one of the core components of saddle binder, which is completed the staples of the molding process and the binding process of books. The head of the housing process plays a leading role in terms of product performance. The use of performance of head has been closely watched in the printing industry in recent years. Reasonable camshaft process technology ensures good working performance. Therefore, the research and improvement for domestic M2000head processing in this paper mainly solve these problems:high production costs, poor precision and low productivity. The main research work as follows:Firstly, the paper introduces the structure and development status of saddle binder. The structure, working principle and the research status of the header are also introduced. Besides, the significance of this topic research and the research content are expounded. According to formulate principles, steps of the machining process and technical requirements of the shell, the blank materials and the choice of benchmark are identified. Moreover, by analyzing the process of shell, the paper emphatically analyses the reason about the material waste, process complex, high cost and low efficiency. At the same time, on the basis of the original process, a new processing technology is redesigned. The technology improvement was analyzed. The reasonableness of the new technology is determined.Secondly, the problem of high cost during the processing of the groove is deeply researched. At the present, two processing methods are used, one is wire cutting and the other is formed cutter milling. Processing cost, processing time, the processed surface quality and other aspects of these two methods are emphatically compared to determine ultimately reasonable processing plan. At the same time, we make reasonable choices about milling, grinding, drilling machine tool and its accessories and formulate the process route of milling, grinding and drilling.Finally, in order to meet the manufacturability requirement of the components, we compare the advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of fixtures and jigs. According to the design principles and requirements, a special jig and fixture supporting was designed. By comparing the jig drilling with traditional processing method, the importance of jig design is reflected. The paper studies the original processing technology of the head shell and analyzes the process of the shell and the main technology problems. By comparing the original process and the improved process, the process of concentration and dispersion is reasonably arranged to determine the feasibility of Process route. The paper also detailed studies the processing method of the groove, mainly comparing the cost and processing time, to reflect the rationality of the improved process. Simultaneously, we design a set of special jig and fixture because it is difficult to ensure the machining accuracy due to a lot of holes. By taking these measures, the problems of poor working performance, high production cost and long production cycle are solved.
