The waste water from sugar cane is mainly produced in the process of production and the process of sugar by-product comprehensive utilization, with a mixture of condensate cooling waste water, production equipment’s cleaning water and other production waste water. Sugar waste water has high concentration, the concentration fluctuation of COD is large, and the temperature is relatively high, so the treatment of wastewater is difficult.Recently, the CASS technology and oxidation ditch process are widely used in wastewater treatment while the application of contact oxidation process in wastewater treatment is relatively rare. This essay takes one factory’s sugar waste water as an example, making a comparative analysis on CASS, oxidation ditch, and A/O-contact oxidation processes, and finally using A/O-contact oxidation as the wastewater treatment for that sugar factory. Through the design, construction and debugging, sugar refinery wastewater treatment station is put into operation.After the completion of the activated sludge cultivation, the entire system begin to run series, although the water quality has reached the design requirement, the energy consumption is higher, and the removal rate of pollutants has certain space to ascend, so, has optimization debugging for whole system of Duty parameter..During the debugging process, by changing the temperature, pH value, and the hydraulic retention time of the waste water, the removal effects of A/O-contact oxidation on the pollutants of sugar wastewater and the optimum operation parameters will be investigated and determined. The results show that when the water temperature in a biochemical system is30~40℃,pH value is7~8, A/O pool’s hydraulic retention time is14h, and contact oxidation tank hydraulic retention time is5h, the removal rate reached a higher level.Debugging running results show that A/O-contact oxidation has good removal effect on water pollutants of cane sugar. On the condition that the wastewater quality changes largely, it can also reach or exceed the discharge standard of water pollutants produced in sugar industry (GB21909-2008), water pollutant discharge limits and city wastewater reclamation and reuse water quality of industrial water (GB/T19923-2005) and the requirements of open circulating cooling water system.The utilization of A/O-contact oxidation process for the treatment of sugar wastewater has strong capacity of anti shock loading, automatic and continuous operation, advanced technology and economical value. So it has important practical significance and popularization value.
