Furniture is a crystallization of the wisdom of the nation, but also a carrier ofnational culture. With the global economic integration and the multiculturalbackground, the inevitable contradictions and conflicts in the western furniture culture.This paper makes a comparative study on Chinese and Western chair design symbolsfrom the semiotic perspective, analyzing the differences and the causes, to explore thedevelopment of industry and the innovation of Chinese furniture road.
