With the rapid development of economic today, the demand for energy is growing, Although there are now a lot of new energy are gradually put into industrial production, but the proportion they occupied is still very small.Coal is still the main source of energy in our country in the future. Although China’s coal mine safety monitoring system and security mechanism is increasingly sophisticated, But with the deepening of coal mining depth, the expansion of scale, the danger coefficient of underground work remains high, accidents often occur. If we can achieve high precision positioning underground, can grasp the underground personnel position in real time, scheduling and management of real-time, which will greatly improve the production safety and work efficiency, and also can accurately grasp the trapped personnel quantity in the event of an accident, achieve the targeted rescue.This paper firstly introduces short distance wireless communication technology that current commonly used such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, IrDA, and NFC. comparing their advantages and disadvantages that ZigBeetechnology has the advantages of low power consumption, low rate, ad hoc network etc., used in coal mine underground wireless positioning is feasible. Then introduces the ZIGBEE technology, focus on the ZIGBEE network topology structure and the analysis of the protocol stack layers.This paper deeply analyzes the current several kinds of commonly used localization algorithm, after analysis and comparison thoose RSSI algorithm as the localization algorithm in this paper, and because of RSSI localization algorithm has some shortcomings and defects, and the algorithm is improved.In this paper, the hardware design adopts the block design method, the whole system hardware part consists of the coordinator node, the router nodes, positioning nodes and fiber optic network which connect coordinator node and the control center. Hardware design mainly adopts CC2530of TI company as the core chip in this paper, using CC2530and rf front-end CC2531nodes design the coordinator or router, using CC2530design positioning nodes.The simulation results show that the design of mining wireless positioning system based on zigBee technology, can realize the tracking and location of underground personnel and is advantageous to the miners scheduling management, is an effective solution.
