Gemini surfactant with two hydrophilic groups and lipophilic groups, composed of twoamphiphilic molecules in ionic headgroups via chemical bond, this particular structuredetermines its value of lower CMC and higher surface activity that compared withconventional surfactants, therefore, it has better application prospect. In this paper, nonylphenol as the main raw material, and poly formaldehyde condensation reaction, generatemethyl coupling double nonylphenol. Methyl nonyl phenol coupling pair with epoxychloropropane synthesis of glycidyl ether; the production and then reacted with twodimethylamine generated methyl coupling double nonylphenol tertiary amine; by reaction of3-chloro-2-hydroxyl propane sulfonic acid sodium and the synthetic double nonylphenolsulfobetaine amphoteric surfactant; it was also synthesized the ratio of raw materials, synthesis the reaction temperature, reaction time, and optimized for the selection of thecatalyst; by recrystallization method for Gemini synthetic surfactants were purified, anddetermined content of final product activity with phosphotungstic acid method that was94.7%; by using drop volume method, surface tension of Gemini surfactants determinedproduct method, the critical micelle concentration and the critical surface tension, the surfaceof the novel sulfobetaine type gemini surfactant critical micelle concentration than ordinarysurfactants with low1~2orders of magnitude; the influence of temperature, inorganic salt andpolymer on the Gemini surfactant surface activity are tested; the new foam gemini surfactantswere measured, the effects of temperature, inorganic salts, alcohols of different chain length, and pH value were on the effect of surfactant foaming properties and foam stability byspinning drop interfacial tension; The interface properties of gemini surfactants weremeasured, the ultra-low interfacial tension could reach up to10-3mN/m; emulsifyingproperties and adsorption properties of new surfactants were determined, the results show thatthe maximum adsorption capacity is less than conventional surfactants.
