The anti-environmental movement is a new field of the research on theenvironmental history.America’s environmental movement from the original dispersedspontaneous individual industry gradually developed into an organized movement, whichhas made the massive public participation.With the original paper industry and iron and steel, automobile, electric powerindustry joining the movement, America’s anti-environmental protection power developsstep by step. In the late1970s, small and medium-sized business owners, ranchers, andlogging industries such as coal and iron ore owner also devoted to the anti-environmentalprotection, such as the "Sagebrush Rebellion" movement, the "wise use" campaign. Theymainly through publicity, government donations and the way the court litigation activities,to express their attitude towards the government use of resources and energy, especiallyfor western primeval forest, public land and wetland of policy and law. In order tomaintain their own private property rights, or to protect the rights of the local state, theyactively resist or elaborate the federal government’s environmental policy. Based on theearly American environmental protection power development,Sagebrush Rebellionmovement and wise use movement as the main research object, the paper mainlydiscusses the development of the environmental movement in the class status and theinfluence of strength.This article on the structure roughly divided into three parts: the first part is theintroduction part, including four aspects of problems.respectively, the paper’s writingpurpose and significance, the structure of the article and the research method, theacademic research situation at home and abroad and the related concept definition.The second part is the body of the article system, mainly discusses the four maincontent, namely early America’s environmental protection power the cause of the rise anddevelopment,"sagebrush resistance" movement details of the development process andthe use of "smart" movement, impact on America’s environmental protection power classanalysis and summary. In the first content, this paper traces the historical roots of the riseof America’s environmental protection force, this paper discusses the early paper mills, steel, automobile and chemical industry etc. Large business enterprise of theenvironmental movement.
