China is the largest cement production country, the cement’s production needs toconsume a huge amount of energy and resources. Mixing grinding is a high powerconsumption grinding method and the variation grindability of clinker and reactive admixturecaused the uneven cement particles size distribution. The coarse particles contain manyclinker with high hydration activity, but the degree of hydration of coarse clinker is lower,result in the waste.In this paper, the cement was prepared by the clinker, mineral powder, low reactiveadmixture with different fineness and proportion and mixed after separately grinding. Theeffect of fineness match of raw material on properties of cement was studied and the optimalfineness match was given, the influence of proportion match upon the cement properties wasanalyzed on this basis. Through the particle distribution, macro-detection methods ofmechanical properties, physical properties, as well as micro-test technology of XRD, SEM,TGA-DSC and heat of hydration rate, to analyze the microstructure of hardened cement paste,the results show that:1. Study on the cement performance when the different fineness clinker matching withdifferent fineness low reactive admixture. When the particle size of low reactive admixturedecreased, the water requirement of normal consistency of fine clinker cement and middlefineness clinker cement decreased, but the setting time prolongs with little change, the waterrequirement of normal consistency of coarse clinker cement keeps unchanged and the settingtime is significantly prolonged. The fine clinker cement compression strength of each agedecreased with the decreasing of the particle size of low reactive admixture, the compressionstrength of S1H1K is the highest, S1H2K comes second, S1H3K is the lowest. The S2H2K28d compressive strength is same to S1H1K,the1d compressive strength is lower thanS2H1K0.9MPa,but the3d compressive strength is same to S2H1K, the28d、60dcompressive strength is higher than S2H1K0.3MPa、0.5MPa, the1d,3d compressivestrength of S3H2K is lower than S3H1K0.4MPa,0.3MPa, but the28d,60d compressivestrength is higher than S3H1K. So the middle fineness clinker cement and coarse clinkercement have higher strength when the fineness of low reactive admixture is H2. When the fineness of clinker and low reactive admixture increase, the heat of hydration and its ratedecrease. The fineness of low reactive admixture increase, the third temperature peak ofhydration prolonging and its rate decreased, compared S2H3K with S2H1K, the thirdtemperature peak of hydration prolonging2h and its rate decreased13.7%. The micro-testtechnology of XRD, SEM, TGA-DSC and heat of hydration rate show that when the particlesize of low reactive admixture decreased, the coarse clinker cement hydration productsdecrease, but has little impact on the middle fineness clinker hydration products. Because thefineness of clinker increase, the hydration rate decreased and the hydration productsdecreased. The cement porosity is low and the pore distribution is fine.2. Above knowable, the cement prepared with middle fineness clinker and middlefineness low reactive admixture (S2H2K), the water requirement of normal consistencysmaller, setting time longer and strength higher, the heat of hydration and its rate is small, theporosity is low and the pore distribution is fine, so it is the reasonable matching method.3. Studying the influence of proportion match upon the cement properties on the basic ofthe optimal fineness match method (S2H2K). The results show that, the water requirement ofnormal consistency decreased, the setting time shortened, the flexural strength and thecompressive strength increased with the clinker content increased. The3d,28d,60d,90dcompressive strength of B2with50%clinker are19.7MPa,50.1MPa,59.5MPa,60.9MPa, the3d,28d,60d,90d compressive strength of B5with65%clinker are25.2MPa,60.0MPa,65.6MPa,69.9MPa.So the cement28d compressive strength can reach50.0MPa with50%clinker,20%mineral powder and30%low reactive admixture, the28d compressive strengthcan reach60.0MPa with65%clinker,20%mineral powder and15%low reactive admixture.The results show that the hydration is well and the compaction degree is high through themicro-test technology of XRD, SEM and mercury intrusion porosimetry.
