Research On Protection And Water Environmental Pollution Of The Xi’an Moat

The Xi’an moat is a typical representative of Chinese culture, is the important materialcarrier of historical memory, and is also the largest water ecological green space and urbanpublic space to rest in the city center. With the development of the Xi’an city, the function ofmoat is gradually shifting from the ancient moat defense system to modern urban landscaperiver. It has become one part of the city water environmental. However, due to neglect thevalue of water environment and lack of protective measures, the quality of moat water wasdeteriorated, and the ecological environment was destroyed, seriously affected the landscapevalue，historical and cultural value. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out system analysisabout the moat water environment, study the status quo and causes of water pollution, putforward a scheme of the moat water environmental protection, and ultimately providescientific foundation to the planning of the Xi’an moat.Based on the comprehensive survey and focus testing on moat water pollution, the articleevaluated the pollution status by the standard of landscape water, and results showed that thequality of moat water could not reach the standard of landscape water. The article alsoresearched the distribution characteristics of major pollutants in the moat, and analyzed thecauses, and results showed that south-west part of moat mainly was endogenous pollution,north-east part was mainly external pollution. The survey of the moat algae showed that thealgae grow fast in June, July, August, and September and the green algae was full ofadvantaged. The eutrophication assessment showed that the moat was in eutrophic state.Besides, through the moat water environmental comprehensive evaluation, the results showedthe moat water environment quality overall is poorer, needs to be improved. Combined withurban water environment governance and water landscape construction, pieces of technicalcountermeasures and scientific guidance to govern and protect the moat were provided fromeight aspects, such as sewage, dredging, water purification, ecological embankmentconstruction, water planning, strengthen management, surrounding communities construction,water cultural construction.
