Mine hydraulic drill carriages are a kind of rock drilling equipment powered byhigh-pressure liquid and used for deep drilling, gas detection and tunnel geologicaldetection in coalmine production. Though the hydraulic drill carriages currentlyavailable in the market can basically satisfy production requirements functionally,there is still plenty room for improvement in terms of handling of drill pipes.Automatic handling system of drill pipes of the mine hydraulic drill carriages isauxiliary equipment of the drill carriages and can automatically conduct loading andunloading of the drill pipes, relieving labor intensity of the workers. The paperresearches the automatic handling system of drill pipes of hydraulic drill carriages. Themain work is as follows:This article describes the structural features and operating characteristics ofhydraulic drill carriages and has also designed an automatic handling system of drillpipes of hydraulic drill carriages specific to the low pipe changing efficiency in thedeep drilling process which can achieve automatic loading and unloading of drill pipesand is especially suitable for hydraulic drill carriages operating underground.Based on the working principles and structural features, motion analysis of thedevice is performed to determine the movement of the drill pipe handling device,rotation angle and speed of the manipulator, travel range of the sliding panel, etc.Positional relationship between each component of the device and the basicdimensions are calculated based on the analysis results. Dynamic analysis of thedevice is conducted, including calculation of driving force of the manipulatorclamping hydraulic cylinder and output torque of the manipulator turning hydrauliccylinder. In the dynamic analysis of the manipulator clamping hydraulic cylinder,stress conditions of the manipulator at different rotation angles are analyzed todetermine the hazardous location and driving force of the clamping device iscalculated. According to load conditions of the device, design of the two hydraulic cylindersis performed and stiffness of tension spring of the reset device is calculated. Theengineering design software of Pro/E is adopted in the design of three-dimensionalstructure solid model of the entire device. Finite element analysis of the device isconducted with the finite element analysis software HyperWorks and the results provethat structural design of the device is reasonable and can satisfy the strengthrequirements.This paper has conducted research into design of the automatic handling systemof drill pipes of the mine hydraulic drill carriages mainly from the four aspects of workprinciples, motion and dynamic analysis, engineering structural design and strengthanalysis and has realized automatic handling of drill pipes of small hydraulic drillcarriages. The entire device is simple in principle, comprehensive in function, compactin structure, easy to operate and worth of promotion and application.
