With the development of productivity and the progress rapidly of the science and technology, It is very important weather large-scale equipments in industrial departments can operate safely, which can not only improve enterprises’ economic effectiveness, but also nation’s. So, it’s so urgent that setting up a set of more reasonable and effective accident evolution and analysis model. Based on traditional accident analysis method and the characteristics of accident, the paper applys Petri nets to accident analysis and integrate with GTST-MLD model, which is a new method in accident analysis. On the point of application of an integrated approach to GTST-MLD and Petri Nets in fault diagnosis fields, research work in the thesis focus on:1. Introduce the accident analysis methods briefly, in which Function-based accident analysis methods are emphasized in detail, including accident analysis method based on GTST-MLD, and discuss their merits and shortcoming in the application.2. Based on the basic transmission character of accident, a accident Petri net model is put forward by analyzing the application limits of traditional Petri net in the accident analysis fields. The model Can well describe the character of accident evolution and calculate probability, as well as solve the problems of all kinds of accident development models.3. The most important part of the paper is the integrated approach to GTST-MLD and Petri Nets. This paper builds bridge for conversion between GTST-MLD and Petri net, for example, basic symbol, base type and 5 evolution routes of accident. The integrated approach is not only qualitatively describes the evolution of safety accident, but also combines with other factors such as time and probability of the evolutionary progress, and provides a more accurate quantitative result of safety assessment.
