The groundwater with the characteristics of good water quality and excellent use value, is buried in loose sedimentary strata that beneath the subsurface. The groundwater data are used to find out the groundwater’s changing regularity, and the groundwater data visualization is the primary method to present the groundwater hydrogeological conditions and reflect the monitoring parameters’ changing conditions, but it is still in the development stage, with the fall behind groundwater modeling methods, weak monitoring data visualization capabilities, the lack of warning visualization capabilities and other issues.To solve the above problems, through using a variety of scientific visualization technique to study the groundwater data visualization methods. Firstly, analyzed the groundwater data sources and divided into two types of geological data and monitoring data. Secondly, used triangulation network, improved triangulation network and regular rectangular mesh method for geological layer modeling according to the groundwater geological data, after contrastive analyzed the reconstruction layer model, and select the best modeling approach. Due to geological data sparseness, this paper proposed a regular grid triangular prism voxel space construction method, achieved a three-dimensional groundwater geological modeling, verified the correctness of the model construction method. Then according to the groundwater level data achieved a level contour drawing and filling to form a level contour map based on triangulation mesh method, and implemented the generation the level is surface of three-dimensional groundwater after the construction of the three-dimensional groundwater geological model, thus realized the effective visualization of groundwater level data in the three-dimensional groundwater geological model, achieving the goal of groundwater real-time level data’s dynamic monitoring. Finally, improved the image edge detection method, combined with the feature of level monitoring data realized the partial extremum search algorithm based on level timing changing. Through the partial extremum search on the level changing conditions, and real-time level monitoring visualization method, giving warnings for the level region that exceed normal changing indicator, therefore realized the warning visualization of groundwater real-time level.In this paper, Visual Studio 2010 and Open GL are used as development tools to realize the groundwater data visualization methods. Take the actual data of Dingbian County, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province groundwater hydrologic long-observation holes for example, verified the data visualization methods used in this paper is feasible, effective, and practical, provided a reliable method for groundwater monitoring and security data management.
